Miranda graduated from her Honors degree at RMIT University, completing her Bachelor of Design (Fashion). Upon receiving the annual Progress and Engagement graduate award prize from the prestigious course, she is currently working on her own self-titled clothing label ‘Miranda Dix’, where she is taking elements from her recent graduate collection which were selected to be showcased at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2015. Her graduate collection was informed from a collaboration with an entomologist, where they worked together to create microscopic images of the cuckoo wasp. This translated into textile research and development into ways of honoring the tiny hair follicles on the bug shell that cannot be seen from the naked eye. Through her thesis research and innovative techniques, she focuses on metallic surfaces and manipulation of fabrics, and combining this with methods computer aided design such as laser cutting. Having been published in magazines and newspapers, the multi accomplished practitioner will be releasing her first long awaited commercial collection in late 2016 available on her online platforms. Miranda intends to grow her label in the near future and share her work all over the world.

Dix is a unique hand made clothing line located in Melbourne that currently focuses on the avant garde costume elements that can be brought into everyday wear for women and men.
