BKS Stonemasons

Brendon Smith, owner of BKS Stonemasons started his career as a stonemason in 2002. His passion for stone, restoration and construction began when he started as a trade assistant for a heritage restoration company. His first project was to help restore an old historic fort in Newcastle NSW, Fort Schratchely. On this project he learnt conservation techniques, gained restoration skills, and learnt about the principles of stone and their many wonderful applications. As time passed on Brendon’s passion started to grow for heritage restoration and stonemasonry. By the end of the project, Brendon knew that he was going to live a life living and breathing stonemasonry.

Since then Brendon has completed his certificate III in stonemasonry and monumental masonry, has also completed a certificate IV in building and construction and has clocked up over 13 years experience. In this time, Brendon has been involved in, and has supervised many challenging and successful projects, these projects have ranged from domestic paving and walling jobs to multi million dollar restoration projects.

Over the years Brendon has had the privilege of gaining experience and knowledge in various fields of stonemasonry. Some of these areas include, heritage restoration, monumental stonemasonry, concrete remediation, domestic, commercial etc. By working in these various fields Brendon has aquired a vast knowledge of stone and their uses.
