Destination Melbourne, in partnership with Melbourne’s East City Councils invite you to participate in a strategic two hour visitor industry forum.
We need your ideas to help grow the visitor economy.
You are the front line of the Visitor Economy in Melbourne’s East. We need your strategic ideas, knowledge and insights to the help shape the future of Melbourne’s visitor economy. Your first hand skills and knowledge will greatly assist the development of a 10 year vision and strategic plan to grow Greater Melbourne’s visitor economy. Your contribution is vital to develop this plan and would be greatly appreciated.
The Greater Melbourne Destination Management Plan (GMDMP) will provide clear recommendations on how Melbourne (including Melbourne’s East) can improve its competitor visitor position. This will be used to help increase the size and contribution of the visitor economy in the next 10 years.
The free forum will be facilitated by Rodger Powell and Heather Linnell from tourism consultancy AEC Group Pty Ltd. At the forum, key questions will be asked in relation to current visitor pain points, product and infrastructure gaps and opportunities to improve the visitor experience and the visitor journey in Melbourne’s East.
The Destination Management Visitor Plan will identify opportunities. Be that to introduce new product and visitor infrastructure, improve visitor servicing and the visitor journey in and out of central Melbourne. It will also identify collaborative opportunities to grow visitation, generate ongoing economic activity and generate jobs across Melbourne’s visitor industry.
